March 2017 News

During the month of March, we have six residents celebrating birthdays with us.  Our youngest birthday resident was a young man who turned 24 while the one celebrating with the most candles on their cakes was one of our ladies who turned 88.  To honor our residents, the department heads gathered at lunch and sang Happy Birthday to the resident celebrating their birthday that day.  Happy Birthday to all of our March birthdays!

We also had three of our staff members celebrate birthdays in March.  However, none of them wanted to share how many candles would be on their cake!

Speaking of staff, we had nine staff members celebrate employment anniversaries during March.  While we had four celebrate their one-year anniversary, we had one of our staff celebrate their 26th year at Ozark Mountain Regional Healthcare!  What an amazing accomplishment!  The average length of employment among these nine employees was almost 6 years.  We remain thankful for the staff who provide such excellent care for the residents entrusted to us.

From the Administrator's Desk - Rob Haley:  We entered our "survey window" in December 2016 and expect a team of surveyors sometime between now and the end of May.  This is our annual review as required by State statute and I am confident that our home will do very well again this year!  I also want to say what a pleasure it has been to be a part of Ozark Mountain Healthcare family for the past four years.  I have accepted a new position in Nixa, MO and will always remember my time with Ozark Mountain fondly.  I will truly miss the residents and the amazing staff we have here.  God bless each of them!

March is National Social Work month.  It's an appropriate time to express our appreciation to our Social Services Director, Lynda Simpson.  Lynda has been at Ozark Mountain since September 2015 and does an excellent job helping to meet the physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs of our residents.  Among other duties, Lynda assists with scheduling outside appointments for our residents and then arranging transportation.  The theme for this year's special month dedicated to recognizing the efforts of social workers is "Social Workers Stand Up!"  Lynda does a fantastic job "standing up" for our residents on a consistent basis.  She promotes the idea of "standing up" for our residents by serving, advocating for and empowering our residents on a daily basis.  Thank you, Lynda, for all you do!
